Press. Speak. Release.

Place your cursor in a text field. Hold Option + Space, say what you want to write, and release the keys. Dear Machine transcribes your speech and inserts the text into the app you were using.

First-time setup

Install the current macOS release.
Allow microphone and Accessibility permissions.
Download your chosen speech model, then try a short sentence.

After model setup, local dictation works offline. Shortcuts can be changed in settings.

Availability

The current release requires macOS 13 or later on Apple Silicon. Windows is in development; there is no Windows download yet.
